Who we are
This privacy policy applies to sportshealthguide.com ("Sports Health Guide", "we", "us"). If you have questions about it, use our contact form.
What we collect
Newsletter. If you subscribe, we store your email address and the date you subscribed so we can send you the newsletter.
Contact form. If you send us a message, we receive your name, email address and message so we can reply.
Server logs. Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested. These logs are used for security and to keep the site running.
Your theme choice. If you switch between light and dark mode, that preference is saved in your browser's local storage. It never leaves your device.
Advertising and cookies
We use third-party advertising, including Google AdSense, to fund the site. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this website and other websites.
Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info.
To learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
If you're visiting from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we'll ask for your consent before personalised ads or non-essential cookies are used, and you can change your choice at any time.
Other third parties
This site loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address when the fonts are fetched. Images are hosted on our own server.
How we use your information
- To send the newsletter you asked for.
- To reply to your messages.
- To keep the website secure and working.
- To show advertising that funds the site, as described above.
We don't sell, rent or trade the personal information you give us directly, such as your email address.
How long we keep it
We keep newsletter subscriptions until you unsubscribe. We keep contact messages for up to two years, then delete them. Server logs are kept for a limited period by our hosting provider.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, to object to or restrict its use, and to withdraw consent. Use our contact form and we'll act on your request within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
This site is aimed at a general audience and isn't directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
